On 1 November 2018, we became part of the Birmingham Special Schools Co-operative Trust and a Foundation school.

We are delighted to be working in partnership with the following member schools:

  • Dame Ellen Pinsent School
  • Fox Hollies School
  • Hamilton School
  • Longwill School
  • The Pines School

We have the following partner schools:

  • Calthorpe Academy
  • Wilson Stuart School

Hays Education, University of Birmingham and University College Birmingham are partners in the Trust.

Our Trust collaborates to share best practice, share expertise and improve our schools and children’s educational experiences.

On Wednesday 17 October 2018, our schools collaborated to create an Arts day, resulting in a wonderful performance by students. Staff benefitted greatly from working together.

Our Trust’s purpose is collaboration to enhance children’s lives.

Trust Statutory Notice and Proposal: 26 February 2018

Result of Initial Consultation: 6 February 2018

A report on the consultation has been published (below). The Governors considered the report on 6 February 2018 and have voted to progress to the Formal Stage of the consultation.

Initial Consultation: 16 to 29 January 2018

There was a meeting at Baskerville School on Friday 26 January 2018 to hear more about the initial consultation to change the type of school we are from a Communitys school to a Foundation school. This will allow us to form a partnership with other special education schools and partners to achieve our aims for the school.

There were also meetings at other schools, as listed in the Information Leaflet below. Parents, carers, staff and stakeholders were invited to attend one of the meetings to tell us what they thought.
