I believe this was the school I attended between 1948 and 1951 (aged 6-9). It was a hospital school for younger children back then. I am looking for any historical information about the school from this time.

Thank you for the very warm welcome we received today when we came to visit your school. It was lovely to see how a school should be! The positive relationships between staff and pupils was clear to see in an environment that looked to nurture every childs individual needs. As great as your website is, it doesn't do the school the justice it so greatly deserves.

In September the Commercial Broker Leadership Team spent the day at Baskerville School as part of their Zurich Cares Community Challenge. The team spent the day constructing a bird hide, sprucing up their Gambian sharing bench (including the creation of a roof!) as well as general maintenance in the grounds of the school. The day was a real eye opener for the team and a chance to see the fantastic work the school does for both the students and their families. The CBLT thoroughly enjoyed the day and it provided them with a rare opportunity to see their MD's hammer and paintbrush skills! The team would like to mention a special thank you to Ann McGuire (Faculty Leader at Baskerville) for the great hospitality, particularly the trips on the school bus back and forth from B&Q and the real chip shop chips at lunchtime!.

I did work experience at this school with the Art teacher, Maria just before Summer 2014 and I can honestly say, the few short weeks I was there I loved every single second of it. I only wish it could of been longer. I worked with a variety of different students and every single one of them were so polite and lovely to talk to. The staff are such lovely people too and you can easily talk to them. As for the activities the school offers for young learners, they are honestly fantastic. I only wish I could of come here when I was younger. If you're thinking of sending your child here, I highly suggest you do. They will enjoy it and get a lot out of it just as much as I did. I would personally love to come back and visit this school soon. Truly a great place. Thank you so much for letting me come and do work experience here. Fantastic school. 10/10!

Hello, I was a residential student at Baskerville from 1981-1983. Some of my greatest memories are from during my time at Baskerville, staff always caring, sensitive and went that extra mile. Since then it seems Baskerville team has gone through big changes but gone from strength to strength. I am now a social worker in the south of the country, influenced to some extent by those great role models.

Baskerville can be described in so many positive words that you'd have to get a dictionary to learn all the meanings. It is a well-designed school and without this school, I don't know how I'd even begin to learn how to cope with my anger issues! The teachers are kind and willing to help and the work is set out neatly and it's just right for me. Though I may say something about the site, I would be more happy if this site would include what's coming up and happenings in school at the home page. I suggest twitter news feed. Other than that, absolutely perfect!

I also was a resident 1951-53. I have a photo of the school taken Nov 1952. It was a beautiful building. We used to have goats (that we had to milk!) and a donkey called Nessa. I really enjoyed it there and was sad to leave although it meant my health had improved.

I have find memories of working at this school as a volunteer when I was a student nurse at Selly Oak Hospital between 1980-1983. It is great to see this wonderful website and I have never forgotten the challenging but interesting shifts spent with these wonderful and indeed special pupils.

My grandson is starting Baskerville in September. I have been looking at many school websites but have not found one that has been as informative as this one. Well done Baskerville, you work well as a team and and give two important ingredients, hard work and lots of dedication and I know my grandson is going to get the best education I could wish for.

I was resident at Baskerville School circa 1953. In those days it was for children who had heart conditions and needed special consideration. I had suffered rheumatic fever. If this is the same school that I attended it has certainly changed. In 1953 it was mainly comprised of a beautiful old house (Baskerville Hall originally I believe) with modern buildings attached to it for classrooms, boys dormitories, recreation rooms etc. I can't see from the pictures on your website, any buildings I recognise. Has the old complex been demolished? The entrance used to be from Court Oak Rd. Your website presents a caring and successful environment to the children in your care. How the world has changed since my childhood and how wonderful that special needs are catered for!
